Who We Are
There is a seat at our table
At Petoskey Church of Christ, we are disciples seeking to embody the Good News of the resurrected Jesus and share God’s agape love with the world.
We believe that “Welcome” should be a verb, not just a sign on the door. Our community is a mosaic of different stories, and we want yours to be part of it.
No matter who you are…
Whether you are single, married, divorced, or gay; whether you are “filthy rich” or “dirt poor.” We welcome crying newborns, teenagers growing up too fast, and those over 60 who are still young at heart. Whether you’re a “starving artist,” a “NASCAR dad,” a “tree-hugger,” or just a tourist passing through—you belong here.
No matter where you’ve been…
We extend a special hand to those in recovery and those still struggling with addiction. Whether you just got out of jail, just woke up, or are only here because Grandma wanted you to attend—we’ve been there, too. We don’t care if you spent your offering money at the casino, if you’re inked and pierced, or if you had religion forced on you as a kid.
No matter what you believe…
Our doors are open to everyone from every background: Protestant, Catholic, Liberal, Conservative, or those who don’t like “organized religion” at all. Whether you can sing like an angel or can’t carry a tune—and whether you’re a devout seeker or a skeptic who thinks the earth is flat—we are glad you’re here.

What We Stand For
Our Beliefs
The core convictions that anchor our faith and shape how we gather, serve, and grow together.
One God
There is one God, ruling over all creation in love, justice, and wisdom.
Creator of All
Everything that exists was designed and created by God to be cared for and enjoyed.
Made in God's Image
People are made in God's image for relationship with Him — giving every life dignity and the capacity to love.
Sin & Redemption
Sin, death, and suffering entered through rebellion, and are undone through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.
God Has Spoken
God reveals Himself through creation, through Jesus, and through the Bible — our authority for faith and life.
The Trinity
Though God is one, He is known in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus the Son
Fully God and fully human, Jesus revealed the Father, died for us, and rose to conquer death.
The Holy Spirit
The Spirit teaches, gifts, and transforms us into God's image, empowering us to do His will.
Salvation by Grace
Salvation is God's gift of grace, received through faith that leads to repentance, confession, and baptism.
One Church
The Church is God's commissioned people, sent to serve His purposes in the world.
Drawing Near to God
God gives us prayer, worship, Communion, baptism, Scripture, and service to draw close to Him.
Christ Will Return
Jesus will return to defeat evil and death, and to make all things new.
